Join us for our third annual gala fundraising event - to benefit Suncoast Hillels' Scubi Jew and Tikkun HaYam programs, on Sunday afternoon, November 7, 2021, from 4-5:30pm, at the Morris & Bertha Escoll Center for Jewish Campus Life (located at 13101 USF Sycamore Drive on the USF Tampa campus).
Scubi Jew and Tikkun HaYam are initiatives created by Hillels of the Florida Suncoast to raise awareness in the Jewish community to the many threats facing the marine environment, as well as showcasing the innumerable wonders of the Sea. The Tikkun HaYam and Scubi Jew programs improve the ocean locally and around the world.
This year's hybrid in-person and livestream gala program will feature presentations by six Jewish innovators and experts of marine conservation - each one unique within their field. The gala event will be livestreamed, and hosted by Mike Deeson, Emmy award-winning television news veteran, former investigative reporter, and media consultant. Simultaneously, an exclusive, in-person gathering will be held at the Hillel Jewish Student Center at USF where we will welcome Hillsborough County Commissioner, Harry Cohen, as our first-ever Bubbles & Bubbly honorary chairperson.
